Life Technologies sells SQL*LIMS
10 August 2009 00:00 in Scientific
Life Technologies has completed the sale of its SQL*LIMS business arm to Labvantage Solutions.
The amount paid for the firm, which is an enterprise laboratory information management system provider, has not been disclosed by Life Technologies. SQL*LIMS manages the lifecycle of the laboratory process.
According to Life Technologies, the transaction should have no significant effect upon its financial reports for the duration of 2009.
Meanwhile, the firm announced last month that its GAAP revenues reached $833 million (508 million pounds) during the three months to June 30th.
Speaking at the time, its chairman and chief executive Greg Lucier said that this was down to the firm's "strong" operating ethics and its fast and efficient response to the swine flu pandemic.
The company formed a result of a merger between Invitrogen and Applied Biosystems in November 2008.
