Posted on 10/08/2009 in Pharmacy Supplier News Ceuta Healthcare, an organisation based in Bournemouth, has announced that it has sold out of some brands of thermometer following the swine flu epidemic.
Within the last two weeks, Ceuta has distributed 27,000 thermometers to various organisations in the UK as increasing number of people are diagnosed with the H1N1 virus.
Ceuta has also reported a surge in sales of its antibacterial hand gels.
The firm believes that the NHS' dedicated website, which encourages people to check their temperatures and explains how this can be done, is providing a catalyst for sales.
"We have been overwhelmed with the demand for thermometers and hand gels. People don't seem to have digital thermometers at home, or they have the old mercury thermometers," explained deputy managing director at Ceuta Annette D'Abreo.
Ceuta has received recognition for its operations in recent years, featuring on the 2008 Sunday Times' list of 500 Best Companies to Work For in the UK.
