Sara Lee recently invited a number of mothers who have blogs to its kitchens to discuss the importance of healthy eating, it has announced.
The 13 delegates were invited to the session to meet with nutritionists and share insights into family-friendly nourishment.
Sara Lee hosted the meeting in order to generate awareness of the importance of a balanced diet before parents start preparing for the return of children to school to start the autumn term.
A number of tips were offered following the session, including making food more fun by involving children in the preparation process in the kitchen and taking them along to the supermarket to show them how sensible shopping takes place.
Commenting, Amy Clark, founder of online community MomAdvice.com, said: "Being able to join with Sara Lee to share insights, while having access to expert advice, is a great way to help our readers better prepare."
Last month, Sara Lee's board of directors announced a regular quarterly dividend of 11 cents (6p) on each share of the company's common stock, payable on October 7th 2009.
