SSL International’s start to 2009 ‘as expected’
SSL International’s performance during the start of the year has been as the company expected, it has announced.
The firm made its comments in an interim management statement relating to the period between April 1st and today (July 23rd).
Despite the ongoing challenges in the markets, trading in the first quarter of the year remained “good” and was also in line with the expectations of the firm’s board of directors, the group asserted.
In addition, SSL International’s recent acquisitions continue to perform in line with the company’s assumptions.
At the firm’s annual general meeting, chairman Gerald Corbett will say: “Our start to the year has been as we expected. While the consumer environment remains challenging, we continue to invest in our brands to fuel future growth.”
Last month, the firm announced the completion of the acquisition of additional shares to increase its holding in Beleggingsmaatschappij Lemore BV from 15.5 per cent to 50 per cent plus one share.
