Allianz Animal Health Insurance company announces vet awards

Allianz Animal Health Insurance trading company Petplan Equine has called for nominations for the Equine Vet of the Year Award.

Online industry resource Horsemart states that the announcement reflects the “perfect opportunity” for people to celebrate the veterinary professional that they fell goes above and beyond the call of duty in terms of caring for horses.

The site notes that the awards reflect the “huge contribution” that local vets make to the equine population, as well as Petplan Equine’s ongoing involvement with the animal health profession.

People keen to honour one of their vets for the award can make their nominations online and have until October 3rd 2009 to do so. Submissions will be examined by an independent panel of judges and the winner will be announced in November.

Allianz Animal Health Insurance claims to insure more than 800,000 animals in the UK and pay out more than two million pounds in claims on a weekly basis.
