Posted on 08/07/2009 in Medical Company Product News Bausch & Lomb has announced the release of its Whitman Shepherd double-ended capsule polisher.
Designed by Jeffrey Whitman, the medical instrument allows for 180 degrees of cleaning in two directions thanks to the circular metal polishers located on each end of it.
The tool is designed to remove LECs from the inner surface of capsules and the circular ends are "ideal" for cleansing the centre of the capsule bag before Crystalens insertion, the company, which recently announced a renewed focus on its ReNu brand, explains.
Surgeon convenience is kept in mind as the double-ended design offers both a left and right-angled polished on a single handle.
"The Whitman Shepherd double-ended capsule polisher is one instrument available in the complete Crystalens Instrument Set offered by Bausch & Lomb Storz Ophthlamics," the firm notes.
Other items in the range include the Wallace 6mm capsulorhexis gauge and Utrata MICS capsulorhexis forceps.Other news stories from 08/07/2009
