Posted on 03/07/2009 in Dental Supplier News Ivoclar Vivadent has launched a product to help dentists carry out restorations.
SpeedCEM is a dual-curing, self-adhesive resin cement designed to fix in place high-strength indirect restorations, explained Dental Office Magazine.
It is suitable for securing products made of metal, metal-ceramic, high-strength ceramics and fibre reinforced composites.
Dentists apply the cement - which is available in three shades - through an automix syringe, which the publication pointed out eliminates the need for extra applicators and devices.
"This new resin cement eliminates the need to condition the tooth preparation and the use of dentin-enamel bonding agents," stated the magazine.
"As a result, SpeedCEM aims to provide a faster and more efficient way to cement high-strength restorative materials."
Last month, Ivoclar Vivadent discussed a study that found its fluoride Fluor Protector was effective at preventing the formation of new white spot lesions if used alongside a chlorhexidine varnish.
The examination tested the product on adolescents with braces who showed signs of poor oral hygiene.Other news stories from 03/07/2009
