Grifols says it is pleased to be Health Robotics partner

Posted on 02/07/2009 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News

Grifols is "very pleased" to have been chosen to be Health Robotics exclusive i.v.Station partner.

As a result of a signed five-year strategic collaboration, the former company will now promote the preparation of non-hazardous IV Admixtures with the latter firm's i.v.Station Robot.

Ramon Riera, executive member of the board of directors and vice-president of marketing and sales at Grifols, explained the technology complements other products to bring automation to pharmacies.

"Hospital Logistics is a sector in which [we] hold a commanding lead in Spain, Portugal and Latin America with over 200 hospitals utilising our Pharmacy Automation technology," he said.

"Grifols believes that i.v.Station has the real potential to modernise pharmacy automation for IVs patient doses globally."

Werner Rainer, chief executive officer of Health Robotics, added Grifols has everything the business looks for in a strategic partner, noting it is stable and has well-developed marketing channels.

Grifols serves patients and healthcare professionals in more than 90 countries worldwide, with emphasis on IV therapy, diagnostic systems and medical materials.
