Posted on 01/07/2009 in Scientific BD Biosciences has announced the launch of a new product designed to help researchers working in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. The firm, which is a subsidiary of Becton, Dickinson and Company, unveiled the BD PureCoat cell culture surfaces system and explained that it could be a useful tool for many different types of user. It was noted those in the academic community would see enhanced cell performance and assay reproducibility from the product and a spokesman for the group drew particular attention to its effectiveness in primary, transfected and stem cell research. Ellen Cunniff, vice-president and general manager, said: "BD Biosciences is committed to providing researchers with advanced surfaces that enable them to utilise these cells in a highly defined and controlled cell culture environment." Last month the group announced the launch of its LSRFortessa cell analyser solution, which is designed for use in complex multicolour flow cytometry work.
