Wrigley recognised for commitment to staff health

Posted on 26/06/2009 in Dental Supplier News

Wrigley is proud to be recognised for its wellbeing and fitness commitment to its members of staff, it has asserted.

The company has been honoured with the silver accolade from the National Business Group on Health's Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles Award.

A number of steps have been adopted by Wrigley to encourage workers to embrace a wholesome way of life.

It offers associates annual health risk assessments, free blood pressure and cholesterol levels checks, the use of fitness equipment on site, as well as nutritional dining options and discounts for local gyms.

Other ideas it has implemented include getting manufacturing staff to carry out a set of pre-shift stretches and warm-up exercises.

President of the company Dushan Petrovich said the firm is proud of the award.

"Fostering a healthy work environment through innovative wellness programmes is not only the right thing to do for our associates, it also makes for an engaging and productive work environment," he commented.

Wrigley operates in more than 40 countries and distributes its brands on more than 180 destinations.
