Posted on 24/06/2009 in Dental Supplier News Ivoclar Vivadent's products are successful at preventing white spot lesions forming if they are used together, a study has found.
Researchers at the University of Bern compared the effectiveness of KaVo's HealOzone compared to a combination of the company's Cervitec (containing chlorhexidine) and Fluor Protector (containing fluoride).
A total of 20 patients with multi-bracket appliances who had shown signs of insufficient oral hygiene participated in the study.
Those who were treated with Cervitec and Fluor Protector had fewer white spot lesions compared to the cases where HealOzone was used.
Last month, Ivoclar Vivadent discussed the benefits patients and dentists could achieve with its Proxyt prophylaxis paste systems.
It said the products do not cause any unnecessary erosion, nor does it roughen the surfaces of restoration teeth.
"Proxyt covers the entire spectrum of teeth cleaning, ranging from the removal of light accretion and pathogenic plaque to the elimination of stains and fine polishing," the company asserted.
The pastes come in three different abrasive values ? fine, medium and coarse.Other news stories from 24/06/2009
