Those who are on record holding stocks at the close of business on August 15th will be eligible to receive the bonus, which is due to be handed out on September 10th.
It was declared yesterday (June 22nd) by the board of directors the payment would be $0.49 (0.30 pounds) per unit on outstanding common stock.
This is the same value as the dividend was in the first and second quarters of the year.
Lilly asserted the figure maintains the annual indicated rate for 2009 of $1.96 per share.
In April, the company released its financial results for the first three months of 2009.
Chairman and chief executive officer Dr John C Lechleiter asserted Lilly had delivered "strong" figures, despite the economic downturn.
He added revenue growth had been possible due to solid volume-based gains and the strong value of the dollar had benefited the business' profit margins.
