| BD announces product price cuts | Posted on 18/06/2009 in Scientific BD has announced price reductions on its current range of liquid culture testing products, it has emerged. The firm, which is also known as Becton, Dickinson and Company, revealed it had entered an agreement with the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) to push through the "significant" cuts. As part of the deal, the cost of BD MGIT reagent systems will become cheaper, providing more options for those conducting multi-drug-resistant TB and extensively drug-resistant TB studies. Krista Thompson, vice-president and general manager of global health for the company, said the move would enhance the accessibility and sustainability of its clients' operations. "By collaborating with such leading global health organisations as FIND, BD's Global Health initiative implements diagnostic programmes that help strengthen healthcare infrastructures in developing countries," she added. Earlier this month, BD Biosciences launched a new cell analyser platform for use in complex multicolour experiments and drug development.
