Posted on 10/06/2009 in Dental Supplier News Philips Oral Healthcare has developed a product that utilises UV light to improve dental hygiene.
The Sonicare FlexCare is the first electric toothbrush to incorporate this technology, which it has placed into the brush head sanitiser.
With this feature, the company asserts it is possible to kill 99 per cent of bacteria and viruses while the brush is charging.
By destroying the DNA, germs such as salmonella, strep, pseudomonas and E coli are eliminated.
As well as making the brush head larger to allow for a wider brushing range, the product is available in two sizes.
Those who wish to focus on precision cleaning may benefit from the compact device, while consumers looking for a complete clean might be better off with the standard one.
A further feature is three brushing modes ? massage, sensitive and clean.
Customers who buy this product will find they get a travel case and charger as well.
Philips Oral Healthcare is a division of Royal Philips Electronics. Headquartered in the Netherlands, the group currently employs around 128,000 staff.Other news stories from 10/06/2009
