| Agilent Technologies enhance ADS offering | Posted on 09/06/2009 in Scientific Agilent Technologies has made a new foundry-certified process design kit (PDK) available for use with the company's Advanced Design System (ADS). The group said the offering would support TriQuint Semiconductor's popular TQPED GaSs E/D pHEMT technology and would provide laboratories with a complete MMIC design flow solution. It was noted that when combined, the ADS and PDK platforms will enhance layout functions, as well as give a range of new options for design automation and routing work. Agilent also suggests users could benefit from the TriQuint mailDRC function - which can be launched automatically via integrated email technology. Jim McGillivary, vice-president and general manager of Agilent's electronic design automation department, said the system would be made future proof with a series of upgrades for various processes. "Such upgrades will ensure that ADS users of TriQuint kits have a complete streamlined flow that supports the multiple EM technologies integrated within ADS," he added. The ADS platform supports RF design of all kinds - including microwave modules and integrated MMICs.
