| Siemens highlights efficiency of VersaCell system | Posted on 28/05/2009 in Scientific Siemens has emphasised the benefits of using its VersaCell system in laboratories.
The technology firm points to the unit's efficiency and increased productivity for immunoassay analysis in a bid to highlight its appeal.
Designed for medium to large-sized laboratories, the Siemens product "allows clinical laboratories to streamline operational costs and achieve labour efficiencies such as using one lab information system connection for two instruments", a statement from the corporation said.
VersaCell helps reduce both operator and laboratory time by removing the need to sort samples across instruments, the company explained.
In addition, faster sample loading times and augmented result turnaround speeds have been achieved by creating a single sample entry point. In fact, one test laboratory achieved a time saving of 37 per cent thanks to the new feature.
Siemens Diagnostics recently stated it had made further improvements in efficiency with its enhanced support for the BCS XP System for haematosis testing.
Features of the new device include a user-defined speciality menu for reflex testing, as well as customised profiles and the ability to create individual priorities.
