| Thermo Fisher Scientific appoints new directors | Posted on 27/05/2009 in Scientific Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the appointment of two new directors.
It was revealed this week that the firm had increased its board to 12 members with the addition of Thomas J Lynch and Tyler Jacks.
Mr Lynch is the chief executive officer at Tyco Electronics, having formerly held management positions at Motorola and General Instrument Corporation.
In addition, he was previously been selected for the US' National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee.
Meanwhile, Dr Jacks is a professor of biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, serves as director for the David H Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research and is an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
Jim Manzi, chairman of the board of Thermo Fisher Scientific, said: "Tom and Tyler have led distinguished careers in business and research, respectively.
"Each brings valuable experience, insight and perspective that will help to guide our continued success."
Thermo Fisher Scientific recently held an Analyst Meeting featuring presentations from the company's senior management team on company information and financial projections.
