| PerkinElmer launches new infrared detection technology | Posted on 26/05/2009 in Scientific PerkinElmer has announced the launch of new infrared technology designed to improve environmental and human health.
Utilising the company's infrared sensing and photon detection technologies, the firm has produced four new products to be used in Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) applications.
The products, to be showcased at this week's Sensor+Test Fair in Nurnburg, Germany, are to be applied in energy conservation, enhanced home security and clinical diagnostics applications.
Commenting on the new items, Michael Ersoni, vice-president and general manager of the group's global detection business, said: "We believe that PerkinElmer's recent detector innovations are giving OEMs the design advantages they require for aggressively competing in today's fast-moving markets."
Among the products to appear at the Nurnburg fair is the Cool Eye Thermopile Line Array, which has been developed for use in greener appliances for indoor climate control and energy conservation.
Earlier this month, PerkinElmer unveiled new additions to its EcoAnalytix Biofuels Solutions portfolio, which has now expanded to include nine analysers and systems.
