| Invitrogen scientist says new book looks at the future | Posted on 22/05/2009 in Scientific Invitrogen has revealed a number of its employees have contributed to two recently-released books, with one of the scientists calling the work a "window to the future".
Four of the company's workers acted as editors for Emerging Technology Platforms for Stem Cells and Regulatory Networks in Stem Cells.
Commenting on her role in the creation of the former, principal scientist Dr Uma Lakshmipathy said it filled a niche by allowing readers to predict the direction of the industry. "We realised that there are no resources out there - nothing on the market - that describes these emerging technologies and how they will apply to therapy and drug discovery," she explained.
The book's lead author Jon Chesnut also works for Invitrogen as a research and development director.
It sets out general principles and methods of stem cell research and uses the work of 78 authors to provide an insight into existing technology.
Meanwhile, Invitrogen recently announced changes to its online store, including a simplification of its ordering process.
It said the alterations should improve the usability of the website and allow users to better understand the products.
