Lilly has announced it will collaborate with Medtronic to develop new educational resources and classes to inform people about type 1 diabetes.
As part of the businesses' commitment to helping patients manage their blood sugar through insulin, they will combine both their expertise in the field.
Sales and marketing operations from the companies will work together to educate people affected by the condition on pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring.
Matt Beebe is the diabetes brand leader at Lilly and noted patients have many treatment options available but need resources to find out how to implement them.
"With this alliance, Lilly and Medtronic hope to create integrated solutions to address challenges for people taking insulin who need optimal glycemic control," he said.
"By joining forces, we will help make insulin therapy more achievable by offering new educational materials and resources that help make insulin pump therapy fit into patients' lives."
The company has a website Lillydiabetes.com, which gives advice and information to people with the disease.
