PerkinElmer expands biofuels portfolio to nine

PerkinElmer has increased its biofuels portfolio to offer nine analysers and systems.
The company, which aims to improve environmental and human health, said the expansion of its EcoAnalytix solutions range, which originated in 2008, was intended to help further the development and application of renewable energy and alternative fuels.
Six technologies are covered by the collection, including liquid chromatography, ICP-optical emission spectroscopy and differential scanning calorimetry.
Vice-president of Applied Analytix at PerkinElmer Sandra Rassmussen noted that government mandates across the globe require the proportion of alternative fuels used in gasoline to reach ten per cent in 11 years' time.
"We are dedicated to providing laboratories with the instrumentation, consumables, software, applications and standard operating procedures they need to help meet these mandates and advance their research and development of biofuels," she explained.
The company also highlighted its complete range of available bioethanol testing systems.
PerkinElmer's announcement followed news earlier this month that it was to collaborate with BioLegend on assay development and sample testing.
