| BD Diagnostics announces partnership to promote assay system | Posted on 19/05/2009 in Scientific BD Diagnostics has announced details of a new partnership that it will use to help the commercialisation of its molecular assay technology.
The group will team up with HandyLab, a firm which specialises in the manufacture and sale of novel molecular diagnostic products, to promote the BD MAX system.
It is hoped that by utilising HandyLab's recently-launched Jaguar instrument, BD will be able to optimise the possibilities available to its automated molecular diagnostic testing platform.
Philippe Jacon, president of BD Diagnostics Systems, said the partnership was reflective of the company's commitment to addressing areas of healthcare which are otherwise "underappreciated".
"As our customers expand their HAI and sexually transmitted infection testing programs, they are seeking simple, flexible and fully automated systems to meet their increasing demands," he explained, adding that the BD MAX system addresses this need.
Earlier this month, BD announced its extended support for Unicef's drive to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus in underdeveloped countries.
