| Scottish Biomedical chief to deliver ion channel presentation | Posted on 19/05/2009 in Scientific Scottish Biomedical has announced details of its appearance at this year's Annual Pain Management Conference.
Taking place between October 14th and 15th at the BSG Conference Centre in London, the group's chief executive officer Stephen Hammond will present a special presentation.
Visitors can expect the discussion - which is titled Ion Channel Targets to Discover Analgesics - to cover the contribution and importance of these procedures in dealing with pain.
In addition, the development of vitro assays and stable cell lines will be touched upon, with attention paid to some of the current methodologies in practice and how these might lead to novel analgesics.
Other key speakers at the event will include Chas Bountra - chief scientist of the Structural Genomics Consortium at the University of Oxford - and Rosalin Arends, director of clinical pharmacology at Pfizer.
Attendees will range from executives to developers and professors in fields such as neuroscience, drug discovery, protein technologies and disease genetics.
