Haemonetics gives bonus to employees

7th May 2009

Haemonetics has announced that its employees will receive a one-off bonus after it reported a successful fourth quarter.

The blood management product provider will pay $2.8 million (1.9 million pounds) in total to almost all of its worldwide employees, giving each worker the equivalent of two per cent of their base salary.

Haemonetics reported revenues of $598 million for the final three months of 2008, representing a 16 per cent increase.

Its net income also rose by 14 per cent to $59 million, with the company predicting continued double-digit growth for the 2010 financial year.

“Recognising the pivotal role that our employees have played in our success, we had the opportunity to grant this special award while still exceeding our business plan and growth goals for fiscal 2009,” commented Brian Concannon, president and chief executive of Haemonetics.

The company announced the acquisition of medical information management organisation Neoteric Technology last month.

Neoteric Technology is a privately-held company based in Vancouver, Canada. The terms of the purchase have not been released.
