Posted on 29/04/2009 in Dental Supplier News Astra Tech is pleased to launch a range it says will secure its place as a leader in the custom Cad/Cam market.
Suitable for Straumann bone level 3.3, 4.1, and 4.8 diameter implants, the Atlantis abutments are now available.
The products are created using the Atlantis Virtual Abutment Design software.
This programme combines three-dimensional scanning with advanced manufacturing methods and software to produce prosthetic dental implants, which are patient specific.
Dental professionals do not have to modify the products by hand and the abutments are available in a range of substances.
The company said: "Material options for this new interface include titanium and gold-shaded titanium (Atlantis GoldHue abutment) for the more aesthetically challenging situations."
Dr Markus Schlee uses Atlantis abutments in his clinic in Germany and said the product continues to improve the quality of treatment.
"The main advantage is that it provides a better aesthetic outcome than traditional abutments," he stated, concluding fewer mistakes are made in the laboratory because it is easier than some to work with.Other news stories from 29/04/2009
