Bayer says Baycusan C can benefit cosmetics

Bayer will explain how Baycusan C can benefit cosmetics at an upcoming event, it has been announced.

During a trade fair in Munich from April 21st to 23rd, the company will showcase its polyurethane products, which do not contain any preservatives or solvents.

One of its examples will be mascara based on Baycusan C 1000 and Dr Sohpie Viala, head of application technology cosmetics at the firm, said it shows the substance has good “curl retention capacity”.

Bayer asserted the product can mould lashes and help them retain its shape for a long period of time.

“Positive subjective assessments by users have been confirmed through a standard test that is frequently used for hairstyling products,” commented Dr Viala.

The business also highlighted the product had a number of other “favourable properties” for other cosmetics – such as foundation that could soak up excess oil on the skin, while leaving it feeling soft.

Meanwhile, Bayer announced it had invested 2.3 million euros (two million pounds) into a new facility at the Dormagen Chempark where its Baycusan range of products will be developed.
