| PerkinElmer unveils more AlphaScreen SureFire kits | Posted on 21/04/2009 in Scientific PerkinElmer has brought its range of AlphaScreen SureFire tools up to 57 with the introduction of six new assay kits.
The No Wash Cellular Pathway Mapping Kits include assays to enable scientists to analyse signalling pathways involved in diseases such as diabetes, cancer and Alzheimer's.
According to PerkinElmer, which also unveiled a series of immunoassays this week, the product is highly sensitive and provides a cell-based environment for the measurement of cell lysate-located endogenous proteins.
It is also able to measure key signal transduction pathways, which are implicated in numerous disease states.
An All-in-One-Well format has been developed to render separation and wash steps superfluous - and the company said that alternatively, multiple assays can be completed using cells from one well.
"The AlphaScreen SureFire platform continues to be an innovative, homogeneous, flexible and sensitive approach that helps with better screening for potential new drugs," commented PerkinElmer's president of bio-discovery Richard M Eglen.
He added that researchers will be able to benefit from the ability to undertake multiple assays.
