Pfizer contributes to prescription programme expansion

Pfizer has contributed towards the enhancement of a programme to help some individuals take care of their health by making access to prescriptions easier.
The company, along with several other pharmaceutical businesses, sponsors Together Rx Access.
It is a prescription savings system which has now been expanded to enable people and their families in additional income levels to access the medication they need to manage chronic conditions and maintain their wellbeing.
Gary Pelletier, director of Pfizer Helpful Answers, said the company is committed to helping individuals access the drugs they require and explained why he thought the scheme needed further investment.
"More individuals and their families are feeling the impact of the economic crisis through the loss of jobs and healthcare benefits," he commented.
Earlier this week, Pfizer announced it had been reissued with the rights to the patent RE40667 - a compound used in its Lipitor product.
The company was founded in 1849 and now more than 80,000 members of staff, in over 90 countries, work to discover, develop and manufacture prescription medicines.
