Coca-Cola noted for training programme

12th March 2009

Coca-Cola has been noted for its leadership training programme.

The Ethical Corporation Institute (ECI) named the company as having one of the best practices for designing effective agendas.

As part of Coca-Cola’s programme, which is tailored to the needs of senior managers, sessions are run in-person by the corporate ethics team.

The ECI conducted a poll recently and found that staff retention and training was deemed to be the biggest challenge companies would face for the next five to ten years.

Chief operating officer at the Ethics and Compliance Officers’ Association Tim Mazur stated ethics training is vital to a company’s success, adding that if the scope of a programme is limited it can leave the business in a vulnerable position.

He commented: “If you’ve invested time and money in a training session, the last thing you want is for too few people to go through it.”

Coca-Cola was founded in 1886 by pharmacist John Styth Pemberton. It now employs around 49,000 people globally and operates in over 200 countries.
