| Agilent Technologies unveils new sequencing platform | Posted on 06/02/2009 in Scientific Agilent Technologies has unveiled details of a new product which aims to improve DNA sequencing research.
The SureSelect Target Enrichment System (STES) targets areas of genomic study that are specific to the complex subsets often of interest to researchers.
Commenting on the announcement, vice-president and general manager of life science solutions for the company Dr Nick Roelofs said the platform built on some of the many recent advances in next-generation sequencing.
"Agilent's new platform will significantly reduce sample complexity, allowing researchers to analyse a greater number of samples per study with fewer resources," he added.
People in science sales jobs were also informed the STES platform will be available exclusively to the Illumina Genome Analyzer, although Agilent did confirm it would optimise STES for use with Applied Biosystems' SOLiD System.
Earlier this month, Agilent Technologies revealed its latest million-bit-per-minute signal integrity Channel Simulator to allow interactive eye measurement using its EDA software.
