Nestle has opened its new Professional Customer Innovation Campus in the US, the company has announced this week.
The facility, located in Solon, Ohio, is aimed at developing culinary food solutions for the out-of-home business one of Nestle's four strategic growth areas - as the trend for increased sales of food and beverages in this sector is likely to continue.
Chefs and food service industry executives will be invited to the Customer Innovation Campus over the coming years and be offered information on important consumer trends. Collaboration on customised food and menu solutions will also be targeted at the facility.
Some 100 people will be employed at the campus including chefs described as "world-class" by Nestle. It is the company's second R&D facility, following the opening of the Professional Beverage Centre in Orbe.
