| 3M acquires Norwegian food diagnostic company | Posted on 10/11/2008 in Scientific 3M is a step closer to Norwegian microbiology customers following the acquisition of Food Diagnostics AS, the company has announced.
The Norwegian firm, based in Oslo, provides food diagnostics services and products to the food safety industry in the country.
3M has had a relationship with Food Diagnostics for some time, according to Lars Hanseid, managing director of 3M Norway, as it distributes 3M Petrifilm Plate products.
He added the acquisition will allow 3M to serve contract and food processor laboratories in Norway more directly.
Bill Cruise, director of 3M Health Care Business, Europe, commented: "Enhancing our direct presence in the food safety market in Europe demonstrates our ongoing dedication to this important growing market of microbiology."
People in science sales jobs may also be interested in the expansion of the availability of the Lava Chairside Oral Scanner COS, announced last month.
The scanner allows the capture of precise impressions at high speeds, 3M said.
