| Bayer blood glucose monitoring "reliable and intuitive" | Posted on 10/11/2008 in Scientific Bayer's blood monitoring system Contour has been described as "very reliable and intuitive to use" by Information designers at Stuttgart Media University, according to the company.
The meter can provide reliable results in a few steps, which is important to prevent incorrect use which could create important repercussions, the researchers said.
Out of 15 blood glucose meters tested, only two - including Bayer's Contour - was deemed easy to use, thanks in part to its large display.
Maike Reichel, a researcher on the study, said diabetes sufferers and their doctors should carefully consider which meter to choose so operators can use them easily.
It is necessary to identify the use of each button, she added.
People in science sales jobs may be interested in the Contour's successor model, which was launched in September. It has an alarm function and additional storage.
Last week, 50 Young Environmental Envoys visited Bayer in Leverkusen, Germany, from 18 different countries, the company reported.
