The company - which also manufactures over-the-counter medicines and other products ? will be represented by its Italian polyurethane systems house BaySystems Italia at the Simac 2008 show, starting today.
BaySystems will introduce Bayflex Safety, which comprises the systems developed for the production of safety shoes, as well as Bayflex Active which specialises in sports and leisure footwear.
A range of systems making up Bayflex Fashion will also be on display - including for the manufacture of lightweight and versatile midsoles and inserts that adapt to the shape of a foot.
The Bayflex Safety brand represents an "innovative system" for the manufacture of midsoles which are up to 15 per cent lighter, Bayer said.
It stated: "With its savings potential, outstanding processing properties and quality, this system offers customers increased comfort and gives the processors a crucial edge over the competition."
Last week, Bayer announced a 150,000 euro (120,000 pound) scholarship fund.
