Posted on 22/10/2008 in Medical Company Product News Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has announced it has expanded its mask and CPAP flow generator offerings for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea.
The firm will introduce a new CPAP range and a pair of new masks at an exhibition in Atlanta, Georgia, next week.
It states the new SleepStyle 240 CPAP flow generators are capable of collecting data during treatment and store it on a removable USB flash memory device which can be reviewed by a patient's doctor without the need for any specific card-reading hardware.
The new Zest nasal mask combines a silicone seal with previously-proven technology from the company, it states, adding the tool is small, quiet and designed to fit the majority of patients straight out of the box.
Meanwhile, the Forma full face mask features a new FlexiFoam cushion, which Fisher & Paykel states is both soft and light, as well as including active contouring to conform to a patient's face.
Commenting on the launches, Michael Daniell, chief executive officer of the company, states: "The SleepStyle 240 range will broaden our premium flow generator device offering alongside our SleepStyle Auto flow generator, which incorporates our unique SensAwake technology."
Regarding the masks, he states they include technology which will help enhance comfort, seal and ease of use for CPAP patients.
