| Thermo Fisher Scientific achieves streamlined multi-residue pesticide analysis | Posted on 26/09/2008 in Scientific Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the introduction of a new application note that demonstrates its range of offerings for the food safety industry and details its performance capabilities in the determination of low pesticide residue concentrations.
Accurate pesticide determination is becoming increasingly complex as a result of growing use of relatively low molecular weight pesticides, the company asserts.
It states careful extraction and powerful instrumentation is necessary to successfully identify these compounds.
The firm says the ITQ 700 GC/MS, when used in combination with the Thermo Scientific Focus GC, achieves "unprecedented" average relative standard deviation.
Eric Phillips, strategic GC and GC/MS market manager for environmental and food safety at the company, states: "From routine hardware designed for robust and reliable operation to easy-to-use software catered to individual workflows, Thermo Scientific GC and GC/MS solutions for food safety analyses enhance laboratory functionality."
In recent days, the company announced the launch of two new additions to its line of Hypersil Gold HPLC columns.
