Oxoid to host food microbiology event

Oxoid is to holds its seventh annual Food Microbiology Seminar at the Campden and Chorleywood Research Association in Chipping Camden on September 22nd, the company has announced.
The free event will include presentations on subjects including validation of laboratory methods to ISO 16140, assessing the risk of livestock pathogens in the food chain and the European Commission's supporting guidance on carrying out shelf-life studies to assess compliance with Listeria monocytogenes rules for ready-to-eat foods able to support growth.
Previous seminars have been described as covering a wide range of topics and "maintaining interest throughout", the firm said, adding that these "high standards" would continue at this year's conference.
Those wishing to attend the round table should reserve a place thorough the event manager Fiona Macrae at Oxoid. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, the company said.
Oxoid, part of the Thermo Fisher Scientific, is a manufacturer and distributor of diagnostic products and microbiological culture media. It is based in Basingstoke, Hampshire.
