Idexx teams with McAllister to launch LabRexx

Veterinary supplier Idexx Reference Laboratories has announced a collaboration agreement with McAllister Software Systems to launch LabRexx through AVInark.
The company claims LabRexx software simplifies test ordering from Idexx Reference Laboratories, with the new AVImark feature eliminating test requisitions and allowing practices to create an accurate bar-coded order.
LabRexx populates test requisition forms with information directly from a patient medical record via two clicks.
Jon Ayers, chief executive officer of Idexx Laboratories, said: "LabREXX bar-coded electronic forms replace paper test requisitions which had to be completed manually."
He added this can reduce the errors that arise from writing documents by hand
Last month, Idexx Laboratories reported an 18 per cent year-on-year increase in revenues for the second quarter of 2008, up to $280.6 million (153.5 million pounds).
Diluted earnings per share for the quarter were $0.63, compared to $0.34 for the same period last year.
