| Bayer annual report wins recognition | Posted on 13/08/2008 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures The recent annual report published by Bayer has won recognition in the Annual Report Competition.
With 2,100 reports from 28 countries submitted to the contest, Bayer's report will pick up a number of gongs at the upcoming awards ceremony.
In the pharmaceutical sector, Bayer will pick up the gold award for its text, as well as the bronze for its photography and financial data, while also winning honours for its layout.
The competition has been organised by independent communications assessment firm Mercomm and the awards will be presented in New York in September.
Michael Schade, head of communications at Bayer, said: "The international recognition motivates us in our efforts to provide our shareholders and the public with clear and comprehensive information."
In addition to this recognition, the 2007 annual report from Bayer also recently won second place in its category in the Vision Awards organised by the League of American Communication Professionals.
The company finished behind its competitor Novartis but ahead of AstraZeneca and Merck, winning a place in the overall top 100 rankings.
In June 2008, Bayer published its latest sustainable development programme and reported a 27 per cent drop in its carbon emissions since 1990.Other news stories from 13/08/2008
