Wyeth Pharmaceuticals appoints new regional president

Wyeth Pharmaceuticals has announced the appointment of Andreas Krebs as its new president of operations in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Canada.

Mr Krebs joined the pharmaceutical firm in 2003 and took general control of the Germany arm of its worldwide business.

During his time heading up Wyeth’s German operation, Mr Krebs was able to “transform” the business into one of the fastest growing in the industry and he is now set to report directly to the company’s global president Joseph Mahady.

With a background as a medical academic, Mr Krebs managed the sales division of the Bayer pharmaceutical firm in Europe, Latin America and Aisa, prior to his switch to Wyeth five years ago.

Earlier this month, Wyeth’s chief executive officer Bernard Poussat presented at the 29th annual global healthcare conference staged by Goldman Sachs in California.
