Oxoid is inviting scientists to enter its 2007/08 Young Microbiologist of the Year Award.
The microbiological firm is organising the award with International Food Hygiene and the Institute of Brewing and Distilling to find the world’s hottest young microbiologist.
Entries are welcome from microbiologists worldwide under the age of 30 and nominations can be made by scientists themselves or their colleagues and employers, until the deadline of June 30th.
The firm is asking entrants to write a 2,000 word summary of activity to be in with a chance to win the £1,000 cash prize and a trip to the International Association of Food Protection meeting in Texas, while the runner-up gets £500.
Meanwhile, the firm is also running a food safety team of the year award and is inviting those involved in food and beverage safety to enter the competition with a chance to win £1,000.
Oxoid claims to be one of the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of microbiological culture media and other diagnostic products.
