Nalco has announced its price increases to the paper industry.
The integrated water treatment and process improvement firm announced on Monday (June 2nd) that it would be raising its prices to US and Canadian customers through a tiered process.
According to the firm, pricing for most programmes will go up by up to one-fifth while select programmes including the use of defoamers, gluteraldhyde, phosphate and polyphosphate chemistries will increase by 30 per cent.
The company said in a statement: "These price increases are driven by increased energy and raw material costs, tightening availability of some raw materials and rising freight costs."
It added the firm's paper services account managers would contact individual customers to discuss the rises.
Meanwhile, last month the company created a method to help ethanol producers solve water issues by taking a holistic approach.
The firm claims to be the world's leading water treatment and process improvement company, delivering significant environmental, social and economic benefits to a variety of industries.
