Pfizer appoints new legal head

Amy W Schulman has been appointed as senior vice president and general counsel for Pfizer, the company has announced.
Taking up her new role from June 23rd, Ms Schulman will be responsible for Pfizer's legal division and will serve on the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the chairman and chief executive Jeffrey B Kindler.
Mr. Kindler said: "Amy is a highly regarded and effective legal strategist who has vast experience leading large teams of attorneys.
"We are fortunate to have someone of her calibre join Pfizer."
He added that Ms Schulman's knowledge and experience make her "uniquely qualified" for the job of heading the legal team.
Previously Ms Schulman was partner and co-leader of DLA Piper's mass tort/class action practice.
She was named Top Commercial Litigator in 2006 by American Lawyer business journal.
Pfizer employs more than 4,000 members of staff in the UK, at Walton Oaks UK headquarters and its European research and development headquarters Sandwich in Kent.
