Abcam signs new deal

27th May 2008

Abcam has signed a new licensing deal with Tepnel Life Sciences.

The two-year agreement supports the antibody manufacturer’s range of kits and other non-antibody products by extending its previous global licensing contract with the life sciences research firm.

A company statement said: "The agreement supports Abcam’s growing range of non-antibody products, which now includes proteins, peptides, kits, slides and lysates."

Meanwhile the company set up in 1998 by Jonathan Milner – a Cambridge University lab worker – recently celebrated its tenth birthday.

A company statement said the most noticeable changes to the organisation over the past ten years have been to the design of its website.

"We have always aimed to make it as easy as possible for you to find the products and services you need," it added.

The firm claims its scientists are dedicated to building the largest online catalogue of the "best" antibodies in the world.

Company founder Mr Milner believes the firm has come a long way from its "humble beginnings".
