| GE Healthcare announces radiology tech agreement | Posted on 16/05/2008 in Medical Company Product News MModal's advanced speech technology AnyModal Conversation Documentation Service will be utilised by GE Healthcare IT (GEHIT) in its Centricity RIS IC Reporting module, GEHIT has announced. It anticipates that this partnership will enhance efficiency and accuracy for doctors and radiologists and hailed it as the next generation of reporting technology. GEHIT made its announcement at the 2008 Annual Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine conference, ongoing until May 18th. The company is a division of General Electric Company and provides clinical, financial and administrative information technology solutions. MModal chief executive Michael Finke said: "Ultimately, the ability to share highly accurate, structured, encoded clinical documents improves the efficiency of healthcare providers." Don Woodlock, vice president and general manager of GEHIT, added that the "unique" combination of speech recognition and natural language understanding turned spoken dictation into "accurate, complete and meaningful healthcare documentation".
