| Animalcare Group appoints new board member | Posted on 13/05/2008 in Veterinary Supplier News The Animalcare Group has announced the appointment of chartered accountant John Tobin to the board as its group finance director.
Mr Tobin previously held the role of finance director with the wholesalers Batleys but has been recently working as an independent consultant - he currently holds no company directorships.
James Lambert, chairman of the group, said he was very pleased with the appointment.
He added: "John's financial skills and his experience of large-scale distribution and manufacturing represent an excellent fit with our requirements."
In April, the company announced un-audited turnover of 3.4 million pounds for the six months to December 31st.
This compares to 3.6 million pounds for the same period during the previous year.
It suggested that trading had been "challenging" partly as a result of the disruption caused to markets and movement by the foot and mouth and Bluetongue outbreaks.
Animalcare Group stated that this is also the least profitable half of the year, with the lambing season (January to April) offering the most scope for profits.Other news stories from 13/05/2008
