Radleys launch new cooling bowl

30th April 2008

Radleys has announced the introduction of a new tool for cooling stirred reactions.

The laboratory equipment supplier has launched its Cool-It insulated bowls that provide cooling to -70 Degrees Celsius for round bottom flasks.

It is designed to fit on standard stirring hotplates and boasts a choice of two shapes to accommodate round bottom flasks from ten millilitres to two litres.

A company statement said: "An insulated foam core maintains low temperatures for long periods, protects users from contact with freezing mixtures and reduces condensation and ice formation on outer surfaces.

"To prolong the duration of cooling, Cool-It bowls come with a special lid that reduces the risk of solvent spitting or accidental spilling of reactive reagents into the freezing mixture."

Bill and Iris Radley formed the company in 1963 when they set-up a glassblowing workshop in Epping, Essex.

The firm has since expanded and now claims to be a niche supplier of laboratory equipment focusing on its own areas of expertise enabling the business to add benefits to the products and services it offers.
