| Abbott recognises top suppliers | Posted on 21/04/2008 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures Abbott has announced the winners of the Abbott Supplier Excellence Award programme for 2007, recognising a number of firms for their supply services to the firm.
The company gave the accolade to 24 for companies from its list of over 15,000 suppliers worldwide as a result of their superior performance and improvements in their supplying of materials, services and equipment.
Suppliers from a range of industries recognised by Abbott include August Faller, Avis, FedEx, Original Smith Printing, Vetter Pharma, Bachem, Ball Corporation, Harris & Ford, Keane and Nycomed, among others.
Originally founded in 1991, the programme uses an assessment process that combines feedback from manufacturing, material, engineering, control, quality and administrative stakeholders together with performance data.
Sarah Catterson, divisional vice-president of corporate purchasing at Abbott, said: "Abbott's business requires continuous excellence from its supply chain around the world and these awards recognise those suppliers that meet the highest standards."
She added the companies' thanks for those suppliers that have shown ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality.
In November 2007, Abbott was recognised with the annual Illinois Governor's Pollution Protection Award for its awareness of pollution concerns and environmental excellence.
