| Chugai looks to enhance European marketing activities | Posted on 07/04/2008 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures Chugai Pharmaceutical has announced changes in its organisation management structure for its European sales bases, with the aim of strengthening and improving its marketing activities in the region.
These activities are run by Chugai Pharma Marketing (CPM), which was established in the UK in December 1997.
CPM runs its operations through Chugai Pharma UK, Chugai Pharma France, Chugai Sanofi-Aventis and Chugai Pharma Marketing - Germany Branch.
"Alain Clergeot is now appointed as managing director of CPM in addition to his role as the president of Chugai Pharma France, replacing his predecessor from Japan," the company said.
"This will further enhance and reinforce marketing activities, building on the existing business foundation."
The company claims that its new management structure and will ease the launch of humanised anti-human IL-6 receptor monoclonal antibody tocilizumab and achieve greater growth through its relationship with Roche.
Chugai has already marketed a range of products in Europe, including G-CSF preparation Granocyte (lenograstim) and antiulcer agent Antepsin (sucralfate).
In January 2008, Chugai announced the appointment of Christopher Murray as a new member of its executive team, joining as a special adviser before taking up the position of executive-vice president and the board director meeting last month.Other news stories from 07/04/2008
