Procter and Gamble renews communications deal

Procter & Gamble has reportedly renewed its contract with GlobalEnglish, a provider of support and online learning tools for business English communication.
GlobalEnglish reports that Procter & Gamble began its relationship with the firm in 2001, with the decision to extend the deal until 2010 a demonstration of the company's commitment to enabling within the firm and the continued effect of the companies' relationship.
Procter & Gamble notes that it first opted to use the GlobalEnglish Corporate learning Service as it provides a more scalable and cost effective alternative to the use of classroom training.
Anand Prasad, director of global learning and development at Procter & Gamble, said: "In a global organization like Procter & Gamble, English is often the choice for doing business internationally. As a result, English language skills are important for many of our employees across the globe."
He added that the company has decided to expand and continue the programme as a result of the strong worldwide support it gets from the staff at GlobalEnglish, in addition to its high quality and superior user experience.
In May 2007, Procter & Gamble announced a reorganisation of its business that took effect from July last year, with the formation of beauty care, global health & wellbeing and household care business units.
